Structural Welding I
with Mike Raven
For people who have had little or no welding experience, this class teaches students how to correctly and safely use cutting equipment, power tools and welding equipment used in shielded metal arc welding, commonly known as “stick welding”. Students spend extensive time hands-on in the welding shop improving their skills. Students will learn how to create multi-pass fillets with E6010 and E7018 electrodes in all positions and on a variety of joint types. Emphasis will be on creating quality welds. This course continues in Welding II to prepare students for certification testing. Required: steel toed boots, safety glasses & welding gloves. * This program has been approved for the use of GI Bill benefits.
