Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) course will be taught utilizing a blended classroom approach (distance learning and face to face). The program is designed to develop critical skills needed to perform clinical, laboratory, and administrative duties in physician offices, hospitals, urgent care facilities and other healthcare agengies.

A few of the topics covered include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, cardiac monitoring, phlebotomy, and medical law and ethics. 

Successful students will participate in a clinical externship provided at one of the many St. Joseph's healthcare sites. Upon completion of classroom, lab skills, and the clinical externship, students will be eligible to take the CCMA national certification exam through NHA.
