COST IS TO BE DECIDED. This 200-hour program is approved by and conducted in accordance with Maine Department of Health & Human Services and Division of Licensing & Regulatory Services utilizing the Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) 2nd edition curriculum. The program builds from providing activity services to individuals and groups as a care giver, to developing and managing Activity Department services as a supervisor. Understanding social gerontology and adult development and growth across the life span is taught as the cornerstone for service approach. Elder care, on all levels, is investigated. Participants will learn to perform as full members of the health care team whose common objective is the quality of life for the dependent adult and to advocate for services in the private and public setting. Training is provided to individual students, small group (2-4), or full class (5-8+) depending on interest. For that reason, the cost of the program and its schedule will be decided by the instructor as potential students register. Contact UTC for more information.
